The game is all about greens and i am no different, all my charracters have over 2 green sets that they use. they are "over farmed"
Anet should make the drop rate A LOT less.
factions should help this issue i think.. new area to explore etc.. will be interesting.

The whole purpose of green items is so people can obtain weapons with perfect stats at affordable prices. The biggest problem with greens is the fact that you are stuck with whatever stats are on it. I look at greens as "starter weapons" that you can use until you have enough money to buy a gold that you can custom mod. The drop rate of green items does nothing to affect the price of gold items. Greens are not "taking over all weapons trade", there will always be a demand for both green items and gold items. The only people who complain that greens are overfarmed are the green farmers themselves, because they can't sell them at ridiculous prices.

I don't understand what the OP is ranting about. It's almost as if you EXPECT to have a green each and every run. If that's not the case then be quiet. Just because you had a few bad runs JUST LIKE everyone else has in there lifetime playing GW doesn't mean Anet should make exceptions and give everyone uber leet items. Green items are supposed to be rare. If you get green drops everyone run then that kinda defeats the purpose doesn't it?

Make it one green for everyone, and watch the party diminish by one with every green drop...

Green items are supposed to be rare, but the large drop rates that kicked in straight from the beginning didn't really give these items "rarity" to begin with. look at Victo's Blade. people saw a shadow blade, and were willing to shell out 100k for it. by the next day, it's value depreciated down to 50k, then down to 20k and now down to 15k. people are spoiled by the large drop rates that came in from the beginning, unfortunately.

Guild Wars is for the Casual gamer, not for those who can endure 4+ hours a day of gaming. The introduction of Green items was to help casual gamers to afford perfect Gold items at an affordable price. Decreasing the drop rate of greens will hurt the casual gamer more than an advant player who can shell out 4+ hours a day. Remember, Guild Wars is for the casual gamer.

How are they "supposed" to be rare if they drop in such large numbers? if ANet wanted those greens to be "rare" they wouldn't have set the drop rate so high.
So they aren't meant to be rare. Hard to get (via the long trip) but certainly not rare.

QFT, greens are placed in to allow casual players access to perfect modded items w/o having to lose sleep over obtaining them.
Profiteering from them was never the intended purpose i believe but just happens anyways in any MMO envirnoment. A crude example is if charcoal was suddenly removed from the traders and from drops, they would still be those who will try to sell it for large unrealistic amount of gold.
crude...charcoal....large unrealistic amount of gold....lol....nm me, carry on.

who resurected my old thread :P
Anyway may as well comment.
As a casual(ish) gamer i just lost interest in the game. I think i ended up doing a total of 5-6 runs and didnt get a single green. Not long after i stopped playing (mostly due to PVE boredom not because i didnt get a green).

WAS for the casual gamer, imo.
I ended up doint something like 40 sorrows runs, and the only greens i got where the yakslapper, and wroths rod. The game just started to feel like any other grindy mmo to me, so i quit.
Oh by the way, i dont care if anyone agrees or not, I dont care why drops where reduced, or the market effects, as im a casual(ish) gamer and i dont care.

Well since perfect gold items are rare and very expensive anet has to give newer players
something good to try and get from a place they know can drop, or they are gonna have
more frustrated ppl stop playing, that is my take on it, I don't really use my green
weapons much, except the bows, I use collector stuff more than anything, has perfect
stats and you can mod them at will.

i did 2 tomb runs last night and at the same time two of my guildies were doing a toa run while we(America) had favor. now the two runs i did didnt get past the 3rd map due to leavers and one LEEERROOOOOOYYYYY JEEEEEEEEEEEEEKNIS but this is where it gets funny, between the two runs there was 7 ecto drops. the two guildies doing a toa run only got 2ecto drops in 2 hours!
oh and the green drops i get besides victos axe and the bulwerk i either give to guild members who need them or i give them away or sell them to new players dirt cheap, usually 500g or less. i do the tomb runs for fun not getting drops. you may think im nuts for thinking its fun but i do.:P
